At a time when California wildfire making records of destruction, when the gun shot catastrophe cases sky rocks in the American history, let us pray for the thousands of people fleeing from fire scenes and lost their home to get settled; let us pray divine’s guidance to correct any problems that leading to the calamities.
Oriental wisdom would consider these disasters as signs of heavenly anger with virtuous loss of the ruling class and people. To the western mind, this may sound superstitious, but in ancient times of many Asian culture, people believe the Emperor /or the ruling representative, will come out to take responsibility for the disaster as indication of their serious wrong doing in certain ways offending/violating heavenly law. The oriental philosophy regards these omens from heaven as warning to the governments / local authorities/people. I am not the only person in this view, an article from Epoch Times with the title “The Reason Behind California Wild Fires” shared the same sentiment. This instance also remind us stories of danger from California reservoirs lacking of maintenance about two years ago. And of course, United States has a different governing structure from asian countries, and adminstrators has limited terms in charge. We hope for a proper solution to the people in distress and a good control of the wild fires.
Talking about environment protection, we do see some hope in other areas. Federal Judge in Montana halted Keystone oil pipeline construction, arguing government did not conduct full environment analysis of impact. The project was controversial from beginning and rejected by President Barack Obama, got go-ahead by Trump administration on early 2017, has long been the protest of environmental groups.
Scientists tells us that petroleum oil was formed not just by a few millions of years of natural process, but over the course of several or tens of millions of years. Molecules in oil have the same backbone structures that we find in living organisms. From Fengshui point of view, (the study of how earth energy affect environment and human life quality), the substances, sediment layers of decaying organic matter which are precursors of crude oil, that buried deep down the Earth are nutrients and energy for Mother Earth. Extraction of these substances in large quantity routinely is like sucking the milk/blood out from Earth Mother. After the exploitation, there is nothing left to nurture the energy field of the land, and Mother Earth was depleted of energy to feed its children depend on that land. We observed in any places that had major oil production, there is always either pollution damage or war breaking out. The obvious instance come to mind is Gulf of Persia, plagued by invasion and War fires, as the Pandora box was opened there once Mother Earth was drained off her energy.
As we come to the end of industrialization era, it is self-evident that the damaging consequence of oil extraction to the collective is far our-weighted the benefits of using it as fuel source. To preserve our true HomeLand, to ensure the future generation still has provisioning of resources, we shall stop oil extraction for the sake of peace and harmony of Earth and mankind. The large corporation’s greed in profit making out of collective resources should be put a stop and condemned. We shall developed other environmental friendly means for transportation and energy source. It is important we came to this resolution, even it is late, still better than never.
This reminds me about citizen’s voting right. No sooner is the mid-term election over, President Trump put someone who can stop Mueller’s investigation to replace Session who agree with the probe. To be honest, although I never regard President Trump’s talk as any matter-of-fact earnest, I never understand the reason behind all the drama of Mueller’s until recently. Through this case, United States does exemplifying to the world how a country of law and order put boundaries of limit to the power, check and balance to any public officials. This may not sound a big deal to American people who has a long history of deep conviction in the power of people/democracy. But to me, someone who had formative years from a deep-rooted-fedualist country, surely appreciate the wisdom of U.S.A Constitution.
Jean Paul Sartre, the French existentialist famously said, existence precedes essence. But if our existence aligns well with the essence divine endorsed us, our authenticity will go a long way to ensure our legitimacy.
